Leaking oil cooler service kit for 1996-2004 Cobra, 1996-2004 Mustang GT
This kit supplies the pin/shaft o-ring that is not supplied by Ford separately. (Ford requires the purchase of the PIN + O-RING set for over $70!)
The special viton o-rings in our kit can withstand temperatures of up to 615°F. This ensures that you will not encounter any issues with degredation of the o-ring due to high temps. (Normal engine temps range from 185° to the low 200°'s)
We also provide the very difficult to find hex socket tool required to remove the pin and as a bonus, we also include the necessary large rear oil cooler to block gasket, the coolant passage O-ring gasket and the oil passage O-ring gasket [**1]
**1 Note: photo of center pin is for illustration purpose to describe/show the o-ring placement. Kit does not include the pin. This kit supplies a low cost alternative that allows use of your existing pin by replacing the bad/worn o-ring.

Recommended torque specs:
Center pin - 1996 only - 59 to 74 ft/lbs; 1997-2004 - 41 to 53 ft/lbs
Oil cooler adapter bolts - 15-22 ft/lbs
NOTE: EXTENDED SERVICE KIT
We also offer 3 additional oil cooler core o-rings. They are housed within the oil cooler unit and caution during dissasembly is required to prevent damaging the cooler unit. They are not sold or serviced by Ford (Ford requires the purchase of the complete oil cooler unit for over $400). These 3 additional o-rings are the low cost solution to having to replace the complete cooler assembly. Instructions sent with order
